Low Income Inclusion | Lead

PURPOSE/SUMMARY
This is a pre event only role designed to make Nowhere more accessible for those on lower incomes. The Low Income Inclusion lead will advocate for those participants on lower incomes to ensure their needs are considered during NOrg decision making processes.
They will also coordinate the low income ticket application decision making process, including recruiting and coordinating other volunteers on that team. They will work with the Tickets and Comms teams to ensure that low income ticketing runs smoothly.
Tasks and time commitment
The time commitment for this role is quite low – starting at 1-2 hours per week and then increasing during the low income ticket application process which happens in late January/February.
There will not be any requirement to work onsite. Post event we would like to gather feedback in the weeks immediately following Nowhere and encourage all leads to attend the Annual Leads Meeting (ALM) if possible in October.
Here are the tasks you will be getting involved with:
Pre Event:
- Participate in online inclusion planning meetings
- Be involved in discussions about low income ticket pricing
- Help the tickets team by setting up a timeline, forms and processes.
- Coordinate the low income ticket application process, including recruiting team members to assist with the decision making process.
- Be the point of contact for, and answer queries from, low income participants.
- Advocate for low income participants within NOrg
During Event:
- None
Post Event:
- Complete a post Nowhere review and document how the year went and propose improvements for the next year
- Participate in an inclusion wrap up meeting
- Participate in the All Leads Meeting if possible
- If stepping down, document role, update this JD, and hand over to the new lead

Required Skills
- Fluent(ish) in English
- Passionate about Nowhere and inclusion
- Organized and keen to get stuff done!
- Good communication skills
- Standard IT skills including: spreadsheets, email, social media
- Compassion and empathy
- Responsive and good at working to deadlines
Bonus skills
- Experience of volunteering at Nowhere or a similar event
- Has previously attended Nowhere
- Speaks French or Spanish
- Experience of managing a small team
