Role to be filled

City planning UX developer

Year Round

PURPOSE/SUMMARY

Wanna be part of the new exciting city planning placement app project? We need your geek
magic skills to code the future app that will help us all to find where we are.

Fun part: nerding – be on the forefront for barrio fight placement This year city planning wants to be more participative and use a self-placement app! It will be used during the placement process, where all Norg structure, freecamps, toilets and barrio are placed on the map. The idea is that everyone will place themselves on the map and be more self-reliant to build the city! At first, we’d like to focus on the barrios but it could also be used by the art team, power team, toilets team, gate… and by everybody! It’s your skills and motivation that can help us to define what’s doable or not!

A web app is already developed by Borderland and they will give it to us and are happy to help us.
Your main role is to adapt this app to Nowhere site and legal constraints with your Java script
skills. The link to Borderland’s app is here. This app is developed using leaflet.

For this year, it’d only be a prototype, so the codebase has to be maintained only till the event.
Then we’ll figure out if we’re doing it again or not

You will work with the city planning team to guide you on maps related issues and permit
constraints and you’ll be in contact with borderlands nerds to get guidance. You’re going to build the software that builds Nowhere (so you’re basically building Nowhere yourself)
The code you develop will be open-source.
